Hapa Hero

In a comment on my old blog, I proposed Count Richard Nikolaus Eijiro von Coudenhove-Kalergi, pictured above, as a new role model to the thought-provoking young man behind Stuff Eurasian Males Like. Why learn pseudoscientific sociobiology, when you can learn from the half-Japanese progenitor of both the Paneuropean Union (whose goal was "the unity of a Christian Europe, free of 'nihilism, atheism and immoral consumerism'") and the idea of a Race of the Future (which, "similar in its appearance to the Ancient Egyptians, will replace the diversity of peoples with a diversity of individuals")?

Ok, that blogger you linked to has serious, serious issues.

I'm the proud husband of a Chammora/Filipina-American wife. I honor her cultural roots and we celebrate our common American-ness. If we ever have children, I plan on raising them to be proud of their heritages -- ethnically as Chammoro, Filipino and European, and nationally as Americans.

Will some people treat them poorly? No doubt. But that justify the self-loathing and hatred on display in the blogger you linked to.

The stamp looks nice, sir.

Unfortunately, it is issued by the interregnal government of Austria, and hence it is has some issues.

That is of course not to say that you are on the interregnal government's side of those issues.

Ooops, I meant to write, "that does not justify" in my comment above.
