Another Neocon
Dr. Jack Kerwick of The John Birch Society's The New American exposes "another champion of Big Government who, when election time rolls around, talks the talk of 'limited government' and the rest" — Rick Santorum: No Conservative. The author concludes that "if it is a restoration of the Constitutional Republic for the sake of which our Founding Fathers labored indefatigably that Republicans really desire, they have but one candidate to whom they can turn this time around."

Good article by Dr. Kerwick, sir!
Are you, BTW, on a completely different note, aware that the last surviving European royal-born born before those fatal shots fell in Sarajevo passed just this past week?
Of that aware I was not. Which royal might I ask?
A recently turned centenarian, sir.
More info here and here.
Interesting stuff, although I'm no fan of the Birchers. Ron Paul, unfortunately, is not a viable candidate in either the primaries or the general election. That is no indictment of Rep. Paul, simply a statement of the political realities. Given that fact, with politics being a prudential endeavor and not one of abstract ideology, who do we choose?
Given Obama's attack on the Catholic Church, it is imperative that he be removed from office. We are now at an "anybody but Stalin" moment in our country. If Paul was the GOP nominee, I would vote for him in a heartbeat, despite my misgivings about some of his policy agenda. Whoever the GOP nominee is -- Santorum or Romney or even Gingrich -- I plan on voting for that person simply because Obama must be defeated.
Perfection is unobtainable in politics -- and while all of the GOP candidates have significant policy flaws, each of them is vastly preferable to Obama. Particularly in regard to the liberty of the Church.
I understand. Given the electoral college system, which I would never suggest changing, and the fact that New York state will go for Obama no matter how I vote, I will support a third party as a protest vote.
