NATO was once a useful organization, a formalization of the Allied Powers int he aftermath of WWII and the beginning of the Cold War with Soviet totalitarianism. Now? Meh. It has outlived its purpose. And the idea of American soldiers serving under foreign command, receiving foreign medals, that's outrageous to me. Bad enough to fight in distant lands for causes unrelated to the direct security of our country, but under NATO? Rubbish. Pure rubbish.
