One good thing hipsters in NYC have done is advance the micro-brewery movement here.

Sure, they'll proudly drink Pabst Blue Ribbon for $7.00 a bottle at dive bars on purpose to be "ironic", but they also have a sense of what real beer can and should be otherwise, and a number of local breweries have recently popped up in the city because of that.

Now, as I'm sure you're aware, this stupid court ruling hiking taxes on NY breweries doesn't help. Let's hope something can be done about that soon enough!
