Sadly, Georgetown is just the tip of the iceberg. The university that hosted my law school had Desmond Tutu come and speak at its commencement. Catholic universities across the country suffer from the same problem -- after the Council they decided that the best way to become respectable in the culture was to adopt the culture's norms for what a university should be. Out went any serious Catholic identity, in came a host of very, very bad ideas and practices. O tempora, O mores!
