I had no idea that Miss Rittlemeyer had located to a land down under, where women glow and men plunder.
She's right; Tolstoy was no conservative, but lumping him in with the "other side" and dismissing him is to see all of life only through a political lens. He was a genius, with his obvious flaws. There is much to learn from him.
Dostoevsky was more on target in his conclusions, but Tolstoy's writing more beautiful. Tolstoy is Diego Velazquez and Dostevsky El Greco.
